Ukraine considers Strengthening of the State Energy Security as a Vital Contribution in the Safety of European and Global Energy Sectors.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,
made this statement in his speech at the Interparliamentary Assembly of the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,
Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland
held in Vilnius.
V. Lytvyn emphasised that "the key concept of the global energy market is the energy security." "Considering the fact that energy security is the primary factor of the national security of each state and its stable development, the future should be shaped in strategic dimensions of the global energy security and cooperation. Thus, our common future in the sphere of presupposes responsibility, common risks and agreements", V. Lytvyn declared.
According to the Head of the Verkhovna Rada, primary directions in the strengthening of the energy security of our state are regular supply of energy resources to consumers at the reasonable prices, development of the electrical energy sources, drastic reformation of the Ukrainian economics to curtail energy consumption, increase of the energy effectiveness and energy preservation, stability and security of transit capacity of Ukraine.
V. Lytvyn also stated that the comprehensive scrutiny of the issues on energy security in Europe should result in common approaches and efficient mechanisms of response to the modern risks and challenges.
